“I’m delighted to let you know that I’ve received an offer for place on a Master’s programme in London. I worked the Melofonetica Method like a charm in my audition and it couldn’t have gone any better. Thank you for giving me such a wonderful toolkit for singing in Italian.” – Dylan, baritone
Yoga for finding space and nurturing the authentic voice
Led by Madeleine Holmes, Soprano, yoga and singing teacher
Friday 24 September, 17:45–19:00, £15
A gentle yoga flow class designed to boost performance through building awareness of the body and breath, with a particular focus on the flow of energy to the upper body and throat. Includes meditation for intuition and integration, and time for questions. No experience needed.
Working effectively with a pianist in an audition
Led by Julie Aherne and Bernard Tan, pianists and coaches
Saturday 25 September, 14:00–15:00, £15
In an audition scenario, where you often won’t have had the opportunity to rehearse with the pianist, it’s more important than ever to know how to communicate effectively, both musically and verbally. Get invaluable practical and technical guidance for both auditions and other situations where you need to put a performance together quickly.
Auditioning in Italian: three tools in the text
Presentation and coaching masterclass led by Matteo Dalle Fratte, Italian Coach and Melofonetica Founder
Saturday 25 September, 15:30–16:45, £15
Beyond proving language capability, how can clear and expressive diction help the singer in an audition? Matteo discusses three powerful tools in the text (see our article here) that help singers to feel fully in control of their performance and sing with greater impact. Includes a 30-minute coaching demonstration and Q&A.
Led by Cameron Burns, Conductor, Vocal Coach and Pianist
Saturday 25 September, 17:00–18:00, £15
What does it mean to practise effectively? Learn how to deconstruct the music and text in your aria and gradually build them back through a series of slow but careful repetitions. This ensures that all the information gets into the body in the right way and that line, clarity of text and support are maintained.

This week has transformed not only my use of Italian, but my awareness of language in singing more generally.
Do this if you can! Matteo knows his stuff - the science & art of sung Italian. The right approach for theatre, singer, audience & conductor.
Thank you so, so much for organising this, it's the best singing course I've ever been on!
Right from the first day I felt like I understood the Italian language far better – and how to better help and guide singers
